Built in Mic and Line in Mic
I have a Rode Video Mic and an XF100. Is it possible to record the Rode on Chanel 1 and the Built-in Mic on Chanel 2? (or the other way around)
I use the 1/8th plug. Would XLR change anything? By the way, thanks everyone that contributed to the XF100 presets post! Take Care Mike |

Re: Built in Mic and Line in Mic
Bet I could find that out in about 1 minute by downloading the pdf of the user manual.
EDIT: I did too - it's all there from p 74 - 76. (Use the XLR as using the MIC minijack input will automatically disconnect the internal microphone). All of which is the helpful way of saying RTFM :-) |

I was a bit confused by the manual. I really appreciate you taking the time to clear this up for me. This is my first camera of this level.

Re: Built in Mic and Line in Mic
So are you quite clear how to do this now? Glad to be able to help and didn't really mean to be rude.
As for manuals/user guides, I find it much easier to do a "Find" on the PDF version on a laptop than to leaf through what can be several hundred pages of paper in the hard copy. |
