Genus 3D rig w/XF105s
Hey everyone-
Last weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting the 2 day Genus 3D seminar given by Alister Chapman (in from London). He is amazing in his knowledge of 3D and how that experience led him to create the rig. We had members of the ASC and SOC in attendance, all of whom were very impressed with the Genus. While 3D is not an easy process with very precise set ups, the rig was very easy to set up once you got your head around it. Alister also could not stop raving about the XF105s and their potential, not just with 3D. In case you didn't know, all zoom lenses "drift" a bit off the center mark when you zoom in. The 100/105s give you the ability to adjust the lens left/right/up/down so, with you are able to get both camera's lenses to match.....which is the final "fine tune" when setting up the cameras for 3D rigs. If you are in LA, feel free to stop by and take a look at the 105s mounted on the Genus rig. Thanks again to Alister! Jim Martin FilmTools.com |
