The XF305 & the Civil War
Well, a reenactment, anyway.
I needed video of a Civil War battle for an upcoming short film, so I took my new XF305 to the Olustee Battlefield reenactment in Olustee, FL. The problem was, I had to dress in period garb if I wanted to shoot on the battlefield. Plus, I had to somehow camouflage the 305 if I wanted to bring it on the field. So, I borrowed some Union gear (a bit oversized) and wrapped the 305 in a burlap sack. I shot the video in Cine F mode at 1080/24P. It is not easy trying to shoot video through a burlap sack! Nor is it fun shooting on a warm Florida afternoon, chasing troops through the woods while wearing a thick wool coat. I will post a Youtube link to some of the raw video later. |

Re: The XF305 & the Civil War
Hi Glen,
Very creative, I've heard good things about this re enactment from some guys I met camping at Suwanee River. Nice shots and looking forward to seeing the video. I'm considering an XF, but not too sure which model, maybe the burlap sack size one? Regards, Doug. |
