Workflow for Edius Editors
Any Edius 6.0 users out there with the XF300? I am curious about your workflow for ingesting, and backup. I see that the "Source Browser" of Edius 6.0 sees all of the clips from the card, lets you choose which ones you want and then lets you copy the files to the project folder. It seems to keep the meta-data of the clips, and keeps the file in its native file format, but the process does seem to take a lot longer to transfer files off the CF card then a straight dump to a external drive, and I am looking to minimize the time that this takes as I am headed out for a week long shoot where there may not be much electricity.
When I do a straight copy of the files from the card to a hard drive, With or without the XF Utility, the Media Browser of Edius does not seem to recognize the folder, and the only way to import them into the project is to go after them one at a time. Am I going to run into problems down the road by not using the XF Utility, as Doug indicates in one post..Does the camera start using the same file names over again at some point, like the DSLRs? Thanks for any insights Frank

Re: Workflow for Edius Editors
Well I have now had a chance to work with some XF media in Edius 6.0 and have been able to develop a workflow that works well. For those who may be interested I have posted my findings here: Easy Editing with Edius 6.0: Canon XF 300, 305 Media Workflow
