Thanks Bo!
Interesting note on Page 80: „Attaching the optional WA-H82 Wide Attachment decreases the camcorder's focal length by a factor of 0.8. However, the zoom ratio at the telephoto end will be approximately 4x.“ In don't get it. How does this 4x ratio translate in terms of actual focal length at telephoto end? Also on page 120: Noise Reduction (selectable levels from 1-8) is set to Automatic by Default. If Default is the setting Nick used when shooting the resolution chart, I have little hope that the blue noise spill at high gain rates can be suppressed. As soon as I have the camera in my hand, I will give the Selective Noise Reduction options described on page 121 a try. What I like: – all three IS modes assignable to buttons - great when shooting with the WA-H82 on and off! – Scan Reverse Rec (on page 124). I hope the picture is not only recorded, but displayed reversed on both viewfinder and display. Is this function described somewhere else in detail? Regards Martin |

Re: Operator's Manual for XF300/XF305
I finally got around to doing the latest firmware upgrade (1.07) and noticed that there is a new manual PDF for the XF300/305 as of 10/2/14, located here on the CanonUSA site:
Canon U.S.A. : Support & Drivers : XF300 It seems to take into account some new tweaks and features with the camera that were introduced with the new firmware (support for CF cards over 128gb in this firmware update, support for a new remote and glass on 1.06). |
