Theatrical shooting with xa-20 vs hf200?

I have been shooting theatrical plays/dance recitals and producing blu-ray dvds for parents for a few years. I use 2 x hf200's and I have been quite pleased with the results so far. I shoot in shutter priority mode @ 1/60sec and limit gain to 6db to limit noise and blowing out the whites. The results are under exposed, which I fix in post.

However, I am interest in upgrading to xa-20's. My question is, will there be a big difference in using the xa-20 with the bigger sensor? Or will there only be a slight improvement?

Thanks,
~Mike
