BP-820 vs. 828 on XA20?
I see my XA20 shipped with the BP-820 and now Canon offers a bigger battery, the 828.
Has anyone compared the two? The reason I ask is that the 828 was panned in a B&H review for short life. |

Re: BP-820 vs. 828 on XA20?
I have not used my 820 yet. My 828 says I have 237 minutes when it is fully charged. In reality, I probably get about 2-1/2 hours of continuous recording out of it. I did a test with it when I first got it and found that just sitting in the on position with the display closed and not recording used about 50 minutes of battery life in an hour. Actual recording seems to use more like 90 minutes per hour, if that makes any sense. For the size of the battery, I think 2-1/2 hours is pretty good, for the price of the battery, I'd like to get about 4-1/2 hours.
