Should I only go with mx XA10 right now or use the HMC-150 too?
I'm in Mexico starting to shoot a long term project. I brought with me my two cameras: the XA10 and the HMC-150. Much of the trip I'll be on the road with some Mexican guest workers in the US, and for that portion, I plan on only using the XA10 because it's a much smaller camera than the HMC-150. I have a friend about to go back home tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should send the HMC-150 back with her too. I had brought it with me because I'll be doing some filming and interviews in Mexico. It's a better camera but, in my experience, the image quality isn't too much better and only having the one camera here with me will free me up a bit. That said, this is a project I'll be working on for a while, and, like all filmmakers, I have high hopes for it. I'd love to get it on TV (somehow! somewhere!). That's why part of me thinks I should keep the HMC-150 around with me.
Thoughts? I'd love to think this through with folks. |

If it's not going to cause trouble, like moving it around, charging batteries and security, keep the 150 with you.
Occasionally you'll see opportunites to use it .. and you'll have a backup as well. Cheers.
