No 720p Output from HV20
Just a quick FYI, our tests now confirm that you cannot get 720p out of the HV20. You can get 1080i or 480/576i, but not 720p, which is unfortunate. The Sony HDV and AVCHD camcorders will output 720p, at least when using our HD-Connect MI or nanoConnect boxes, where we can force the HD/SD-SDI output to a specific standard.

The Sony camcorders will output 720p? I've had the FX1 and the HC1--both of their outputs are sadly defunct now (the FX1 from fried firewire, the HC1 because its tape mechanism is just a piece of junk) and they would output 720p to my monitor but not to my computer. I used to own the first JVC HD camcorder which recorderd 720p at 30fps and I've been dying to find a way to load those tapes onto my computer... is there any way??

The Sony HC5/7 can play back 720p30 tapes out the HDMI port.
