HV20 Standard Def 24p? Final Cut Express workflow?
Anyone have experience shooting standard def with the HV20? How does it look? And can it shoot standard def in 24p?
Friend is about to buy this camera and start shooting a documentary project about a dance studio . She needs a straightforward workflow and will be using Final Cut Express. Any advice, links, suggestions? thanks |

Final Cut Express does not allow 24 Frame editing. It will however capture the 24P if left in the 60i stream as 1080/60i and will transcode it to the Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) since Final Cut Express cannot edit HDV Natively. In short, it will work, but you will have to edit in a 30 fps timeline, not 24.
The workflow: (1) Shoot in 24P. (2) Capture with Easy Preset for HDV 1080/60i AIC. (3) Edit in the 1080/60i Sequence. |
