Dumb Question: Will It Playback Sony HDV?
Hi everyone:
I'm going to be buying one of these guys for our family's use, but I have a lot of older HDV footage shot with a Sony Z1U on MiniDV. For some reason, I have it in my head that my Sony tapes won't play back on the HV20 because of something I read on another forum... Am I crazy? Thanks in advance, Mark |

I just imported 6 HDV tapes shot on Sonys using my HV20 (3 from an FX1 and 3 from a Z1U). Imported into FCP Studio.
Imported flawlessly! :D

Shouldn't be a problem at all. HDV stream is HDV stream.

Well, ya know, that's what I thought... but I guess I was second-guessing a little. Thanks for the confirmation, guys! Can't wait to get my hands on this thing...
