HV20 Sample Request: Cine Mode with sharpness -1 v 1

Hi guys I have a sample request if anyone is in a position to:

Test 24 or 25p in cine mode using the custom effects to change the sharpness only from -1 to 0 to 1.

Many thanks in advance.

Fergus

here you go. i had a hard time telling the difference in cine mode, but a bit easier time seeing the difference in Av mode, note the speckles on the tape body in the lower center.

Thanks ever so much Austin - really appreciated

As you say it is noticable on the AV mode but not the cine mode? I wonder if you cannot actually adjust the sharpness in cine?

i wish i had an hdtv to check stuff against, but yeah from what i can tell there isn't a difference, i'm guessing in cine mode it just sets it to -1 and ignores the custom preset

I tried sharpness adjustment in Cine and studied still frame grabs in Photoshop and the difference between -1 and 1 was imperceptible, if there was any difference at all. I'm not sure if this adjustment works with cine.

I mentioned this a while back, but how about trying the opposite and see if you can create a sharper pseudo-cinemode by using the settings.

Go into Shutter priority, set the shutter to 1/48th, set the camera for 24p and tweak the color depth, sharpness, and contrast through the menu system. Even though you can't control allthe parameters that the real Cinemode changes, it seems to me that you might be able to create your own 'version' of Cinemode that's slightly sharper.

Anybody want to give it a shot?
