Capture 24P with IVTC Using ConnectHD HDLink
As some of you know, you will have problems with some capture software being able to read the 24P cadence from the HV20 and remove pulldown. Cineform's ConnectHD HDLink will capture it in 24P with pulldown removed and store it in the CFHD .AVI format for input into editing software like Vegas. Since CFHD is essentially lossless, this is a good intermediate for editing. The downside is the large file sizes you'll get.

File size is relative, yes it is 4-7x bigger then AVCHD files, and 2-4x bigger than HDV, yet it is 8-10X smaller than uncompressed while offering the same benefits.

i use cfhd intermediates now, and most of my files are barely 2x larger than hdv. i haven't seen anything 4x. maybe i don't have a lot of stuff that stresses the codec; i don't know. it looks great though.

720p averages around 2X and 1080i60 3.5X, 1080p24 is more like 2.5 to 3X, then is depends on the quality setting also.
