Capturing HV10 with FCP
I'm having trouble capturing from the HV10 with FCP5.1.2 on a MB Pro, 2.33 ghz. My Presets are:
Sequence: HDV 1080i60 Capture: HDV Device Control: HDV Firewire Capturing HDV as DV is no problem with NTSC settings, but FCP can't seem to control the deck (HV10) when I try to capture HDV. It can't settle on the timecode for pre-roll, goes back and forth, makes errors, I click continue, more errors. I was able to capture using "Capture Now". Does anyone know if FCP5.1.4 works better? thanks, elmer |

FCP 5.1.2 works fine as well, I think your problem is device control preset needs to be HDV firewire basic.
I have gone to 5.1.4 with no issues. |

I'm having similar issues - I have 5.1.4 and using the info above, still get the "Unable to initialize capture device" error when I try to capture.
Are there some internal camera settings I'm missing here? Very frustrating... Any input would be appreciated! |
