HV20 24 cinema mode and 24f
Anyone know if the 24p footage shot with the HV20 and footage shot with another 24p camera would match in the same Final Cut Studio timeline.
I am making a documentary using the Canon Xh-A1 and shooting at 24f. I am thinking of preordering the HV20 and shooting in 24p cinema mode and use that camera as a 'point of view' camera. Would the footage from each work together in a FCP 1080/24p timeline without rendering. Thanks, Ryan |

They should do if they are captured using the same codec (1080i HV or 1080i HDV intermediate).

24p>60i
The 24p feature sounds great to me.
But what's the worth in it if the "video shot with the [ HDV (PF24)] standard will be recorded on the tape as 60i" anyway. I am a bit confused. |

You will be able to play it back in other cameras like you always do with 24p.
24f on the other hand can only be played back by 4 (soon 5) of Canon's own cameras - the HV10, XL H1, XH A1 and XH G1 (soon also the HV20). The once oh so popular Panasonic AG-DVX100 and Canon XL2 also carries 24p within 60i. |
