Ebay battery won't fit
The one I purchased is a couple of mm too wide and won't fit the HV10. Any suggestions of where to purchase OEM BP-315 that will work?

We refer *all* where-to-buy questions to our trusted site sponsors, many of whom are authorized Canon dealers. They can easily get the right battery for you. http://www.dvinfo.net/sponsors. Of course, since you're in Canada, maybe somebody can recommend a good dealer up there. I need to find a recommended Canadian dealer who wants to get on this site...

Bought from MightyEnergy
This is the company on Ebay that sold me the battery that won't fit. Any advice on a different seller would be appreciated.

Ebay advice
as a regular Ebay addict, a few things... if the listing says "for", watch out...
There are a ton of vendors selling aftermarket batteries that are of dubious quality and value. AVOID AVOID AVOID I know there are lots of Sony "knockoffs" but most either won't function at all in some cams, or won't work nearly as well as a similar rated SONY battery. I'm sure that Canon brand is similar. An OEM BRAND (meaning the manufacturer made it) battery will usually go for a bit more, but if you're patient you'll ususally pick something up that someone bought by mistake or lost the camera or whatever. OR there are lots of "closeout" type operations that have "open box returns" that I've had decent luck with. Of course if you're not poor as a churchmouse <squeak>, by all means support the vendors who support this forum - if you find a good honest reliable vendor, give 'em your business - the amount you save in headaches is most likely worth the extra $$ spent! Solved Battery Problem
Ordered from Best Battery and it fit fine as long as you place the connection in first and then the rest of the battery.
I went back to my battery from Ebay MightyEnergy and it is much tighter BUT it fit the battery bay. MightyEnergy has great prices and even better now that the battery fits. |
