settings to get close to manual mode.....
I just sold my XL-H1 and I am waiting on the A1. In the meantime I have taken my HV-10 from being solely a playback deck to using as a camera. Can someone who has done this point out the best methods to achieve a close to manual control? The one thing I really don't want is the shutter speed changing. I locked it in in Tv mode. I then let the iris change automatically. Then, when I hit the exposure button all I see is a little bar with a +/- symbol.
What does this represent and how is it related to gain? I thought someone on these boards had found a way to essentially eliminate the gain from turning on. Anyway my early experiences are that it looks great in well lit areas but starts to get grainy and have blue vertical streaks when it gets dark. I was filining the moon and it was horrible! Horrible I tell you! I didn't expect it to pick up the stars and stuff but the noise was so bad! I think the gain was kicked in....how do I stop this? Thanks! |
