A big bee !

Here is a big bee that landed outside my window on a big stone water bowl (for the birds) captured on my HV10, I was going to try and move around to the front of it and get in real close to see if I could capture its compound eyes, but it flew away !! :(

This thing was massive (for the UK at least!) around 2 inches long, maybe it was the queen ?

You can see it cleaning the thing it uses to gather nectar (probuscis ?) and the inner part popping out to be cleaned. Handheld on auto-focus so a little wobbly.

It is 2 mg - Quicktime / H.264 codec.

Thanks Lee, I had to wait like 2 minutes before the "save as" box appeared- might be a Mac thing or browser- who knows??

That clip is awesome- the HV10 is really the best HDV cam dollar for dollar!
I hope they include "mic in" in their next version of it.

Thanks for posting.

Yep ! It takes a minute or so to pop up on my Mac as well (safari / OS X 10.4.6) ??? But to its credit 'Filefactory' is very very fast at sucking big files off your machine and onto its servers.

Why sell a perfectly good camcorder just to buy a flying insect ?
