Was shooting some for a short I'm doing with my kid brother. The sky was great today so I got some good shots of that and some of these strange black bugs.

Thanks Daymon. Here's a shot of the Beetle. I shot it at 60i, converted to 60p and slowed down to 24p for slow motion. It doesn't look like slow motion but the real-time footage he is moving quite fast. It's interesting to see how the bug moves the sand back with his legs.

Teenage Zombie Flick Sho with hv20/m2

Well this is my blog i've had for shooting this, so i'm copying and pasting

This is the story of me making of the Zombie Film, We had acuired a location, the Airport about half a mile from where i live, a DC-3 Aircraft was there on loan and we were able to use it as a location. I had been in contact with my actor for months, first to act in my Pirate Movie, but that fell through, so i had contacted him again about this Zombie script i had wrote, it all seemed to flow together, until the last week when we couldn't find an actress!!.... So i searched the entire week and finally friday came and we knew we couldn't find anyone... but we still decided to shoot something, so everything was arranged and heres the <b style="color: black; background-color: rgb(160, 255, 255);">day</b>:

Oh, what a wonderful shooting today was. My Dp and I met at my house at 7AM to have him learn how to use the REDrock Micro 35,, Adapter System
<img src="http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v132/155/11/1236420567/n1236420567_30148970_3388.jpg" alt="Image" title="Image" border="0" />

Then at 9 AM we headed to the location, and like my house, it was pouring rain, so we set up tents and cars quickly to prepare for the actors and crew
<img src="http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v112/13/104/624480170/n624480170_1236560_6663.jpg" alt="Image" title="Image" border="0" />

The Actor arrived and then we set down to creating a script, since all our actresses fell through we started brainstorming ( I DON'T want people to follow my lead, we only did this because it was last minute drop outs and we were screwed, since we had a 35mm Adapter for a weekend and an actor, so we needed to shoot something. So we Did, the entire morning it poured, and we dealt with it. We came up with an idea and in a matter of a half an hour, we had a second actor (my cousin) and my entire extended family seemed to arrive and visit and help where it was needed, so shooting was good and we really came up with angles and dialog on the fly

(Kinda a girly pic of me, whatever)

<img src="http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v112/13/104/624480170/n624480170_1236631_6568.jpg" alt="Image" title="Image" border="0" />

But it started to clear up in the afternoon, after we lost one tent to the wind, we put everything down and dealt with the flying debris. So now we sat most of our gear in the cars, awaiting a massive rain storm, that never came. So we continued Shooting. My faithful DP Josh, and 3 grips Matt, Dave and my little bro Will

<img src="http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v121/13/104/624480170/n624480170_1236440_7171.jpg" alt="Image" title="Image" border="0" />
<img src="http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v121/13/104/624480170/n624480170_1236441_7779.jpg" alt="Image" title="Image" border="0" />

So we shot all <b style="color: black; background-color: rgb(160, 255, 255);">day</b> with one actor, i took some times as the DP as we let Josh take breaks
<img src="http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v121/13/104/624480170/n624480170_1236439_6566.jpg" alt="Image" title="Image" border="0" />

We got almost all of the shots done today, just a few reshoots for my cousin and some ADR for the both of them, since throughout alot of the shoot two wires we hitting each other creating a loud buzzing noise over the soundtrack.

But all in all it was a fun shoot, here are some pics:

Stylized HV20 footage - Alps / Vaud

Hi,

Just posting a stylized footage from a little walk I did in Leysin. The first shot and the shot with the gold retriever are done with a wideangle adapter, the WD-43 (not the HD version), so you can see the chromatic issues on when zoomed in, of full wide it dosnt look so bad. The style was take from Magic Bullet through the 32bit processing in Vegas 8, film noise was added after with XSI's compositor. No sound. Not very smooth in some places, the guilty party is shown in the end, you try keeping you monopod steady when you have a wild beagle attached to your hand :)

Interesting.

Is the camera movement in the first scenes done with an effect of some sort?

It looks very similar to the style used in tv shows and movies and is in my experience very hard to replicate with a small camera.

Sci-fi short revisited

Howdy,

A couple months back I posted my 48 Hour movie for this year.
(here's a link to the original thread: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...t=sci-fi+short )

I have since done some color-correction, a tiny bit of sound tweaking, and I trimmed about 15 seconds off the edit. I didn't want to do too much, since part of the fun is that it was done in 48 hours.

I'm curious what people think now:

here's the original if you'd like to compare:

Starter promo vid for dj

I know this video isn't the best but it can show a little example of some really dark lighting conditions. I was bumped several times while filming these during a dj gig but I figured I would try to put together something basic. It's rendered in wmv at 640x480 wide SD (and still was a big file) but you get the basic gist of it still :-)

Did you have an adapter or wide angle on this, i seem to see some lense outline on the bottom edges of the clip. I love the dog chasing the cam, that's one of those awwee type shots. Good shot!

That video is crisp!! At a quick glance the exposure and white balance looked right on. Thanks for posting, this little camcorder looks so tempting to buy with prices falling everyday. The HV10 is now $650.. awww!!

Klas, have you taken down your files from those sites? When I click on your links all I get is the home pages of those services. I'm interested in videos of forests, being a forester.
