HFG20 Part Number?
I own the G10 and I'd like to replace the lens shade with one like the G20's.
Does anyone know the part number to purchase the HF-G20 lens shade separately? I might be interested in an aftermarket lens shade, though, if you can recommend a similar one. |

Re: HFG20 Part Number?
Is the G20 shade functionally better? I have to replace a G10 one.

Re: HFG20 Part Number?
From what I could see in videos online, it seems to have a built in flag and/or lens cap.
Right now, with the factory lens shade, I'm covering the lens with a lens cap that goes on by squeezing the center. I have to use that cap because of the filters I've installed. The cap doesn't fit well and sometimes falls off so it's not so user friendly. A lens shade like the one on the G20 would be a huge improvement for me. |

Re: HFG20 Part Number?
The G20 has not hit the streets yet. You probably cannot buy parts for a camera that hasn't yet been released.
You can check with B&H, call them and they'll tell you the scoop on it. |

Re: HFG20 Part Number?
Canon usually lists their phone number for support on back cover of the manual. You should be able to get parts information there once it is available.

Re: HFG20 Part Number?
I called Canon's parts department. They didn't find the HFG20 in their computer and only found the XA10 and the HFG10.
It looks like it's going to be a few months before that part can be ordered. |

Re: HFG20 Part Number?
Still shows up as in "pre-order" status at B&H.
The January press release said February availability. I suspect it will be a bit longer for common availability.

Re: HFG20 Part Number?
Would anyone like to add any updates they might have? I have not called Canon to inquire again about this part.

Re: HFG20 Part Number?
From a comment on my YouTube channel:
"The part number for the lenshood is D52-0380-000. I bought it from Convena. It costs 30€. The hood fpr HF G10 is D52-0370-000 and costs 9€. They are interchangable." Hope that helps, Dave

Re: HFG20 Part Number?
I am in the U.S. and Convena doesn't seem to have a ship to U.S. ability. I tried to order, but there is no United States, America, or U.S.A. listed under the country selection. ????
I emailed Canon, and they said to call the Canon service parts number. Anyone in the States ordered this part successfully yet? |
