Huge files!
Hello out there!
I have a Canon HFM 30 and I really like it. My problem is when I import clips into iMovie 08' the files are huge. Around 750 MB for a 40 sec clip. I recently edited a 4min movie and it turns out to be 38 gigs. I shared it to Quick time which compressed it to 1.9 gigs and it looks terrible. The audio is out of sync, the footage stutters and the resolution is grainy. The file size is just unmanageable any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks |

iMovie uses Apple Intermediate Codec for HD material and approximately 1GB/minute would be considered normal. When you say you edited a 4 minute movie and it turned out 38GB, do you mean 3.8GB (which would be about right)? If it's 38GB, is your Out point WAY after the program finish or are you talking about the sum of ALL the media captured, not just the material in use?
