HV40 or similar
I'm looking to buy a camcorder to record directly to a computer. I believe the HV40 has a firewire plug to make this possible. Can anyone verify this for me? Also can someone recommend any cameras similar to the HV40 with a firewire eee1394 plug. other manufacturers are ok (Sony, JVC, etc.) I'm looking for the least expensive HD camcorder i can find with a firewire plug. I need to purchase this camera new, so used is not an option.
Thanks for your hepl, LeVan |

It does connect through a firewire cable (4-pin to 6-pin). And it's a hell of a camera, too. I think everyone universally agrees that the quality in good light is as good as it gets for this price range and it holds up very well against cameras costing many times more.

I second that. I own one. Incredible camera. I often capture direct to laptop (via firewire) to external eSATA drive.
