HF S-10 + D&S Pro-Vista + Rode VideoMic + Bescor Adapter = Loosey Goosey
Dearest Experts,
I recently purchased a Canon HF S-10, Rode VideoMic, Bescor VB-50, and Davis & Sanford Pro Vista tripod all from B&H. First camera purchase for a newbie. Mounting the Rode to the camera via the Bescor works well going handheld. Nice and tight, seems very usable. However, the Bescor + the quick-release plate from the tripod doesn't get fully tight. The screw on the tripod's release plate seems to be too long to get fully seated in the Bescor. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there an easy fix that a Virgin Videoographer might be able to manage (such as: find a shorter screw to plug into the quick release plate - or get a 'spacer' like a locking washer to decrease the overall length of the bolt that has to tighten into the Bescor....etc). Finally, should I just get a different Shoe Mount to use when I am using the Rode VideoMic on Tripod? Like so? WAM25BLACK Adorama Canon Wrap Around " Shoe Mount" for Canon FS10, FS100, And Camorders With A Height Of Up To 2.5 Inches -Black Thank you in advance for your kind help and advice.
