Trouble using a Sony 930 DVD player as a monitor for my HV40

I have my Sony 930 connected by way of the AV cable and the yellow composite cable with Line In selected on the DVD player but don't get anything in Camera mode, only in Play mode.

I know I'm missing something silly here but for the life of me can't figure it out. Any help???
