HF S11 Panning with Dynamic IS: Correct Method
There is no jerking or stickiness. That's ONLY an attribute of video compression on the web.
It does have a characteristic "bounce" at the end of pans that can seem odd, though. The secret to good pans on the HF S11 is to ease-out at the end of the pan, so that the slow-cycle D-IS has time to catch up (otherwise, it will correct its alignment AFTER your pan). As an alternative, just switch to standard IS. You're panning anyway, which will hide a host of vibrating ills. I like D-IS more and more, it just takes (a little) practice. |
