Difference in file size when transfering
Futher to my previous thread (Thanks to Bruce Foreman), I am now successfully downloading direct from the card to the PC but notice that in-camera, the files total 7.9g whereas the direct downloaded ones are 6.9 g.
What are all the other, (un-necessary), files about and am I missing anything as they seem to play perfectly in the PC ? RonC. |

I think it's called Metadata, if you put the MTS files back to the camera they are unlighted to play, it's just that the camera needs the extra hidden files, that's why you have to use Pixela to put MTS files back to the camera if you want them to play.

Spot on. The files also contain the thumbnail images.
I've never bothered with these superfluous files in my workflow. |
