AVCHD Final Cut 2GB Import Issues with Canon HF S100

I'm posting this to report a problem I'm encountering and see if anyone else has experienced it. I know some people have gone on a big thread about the interruption that happens during the 2GB file splitting.

However, for me, the problem I'm having is this:

1. SD card mounted on Mac.
2. Log and Transfer in Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 and all seems to be well.
3. One of my files is 20 minutes long
4. I can scrub and preview the entire file
5. However when importing, it only imports 10 minutes worth.
6. I've tried this over and over without any luck importing all 20 minutes worth.
7. I have successfully imported a 22 minute file before with no problems.

Solution found:

8. I ended up having to mark in and out points after the 10min/2GB file marker, to get the second half of this file imported in FCP.

9. I believe I ended up with a corrupted file in 2 places during this particular 20 min capture. I noticed a glitch at what I think is the 2GB mark. But there's also another glitch a little later. I worked around this retardedness by doing 3 imports. First one that got 10 minutes worth, second one got 6 minutes, and third one I got the final 2 minutes I needed.

Anyone else have an experience like this? It blows. And makes me appreciate my HVX200 even more.

I experienced the same thing. I just gave up and broke it down into smaller files. Out of curiosity what are the specs of your system?
