VIDEO-Colour Grading HV30-- XH-A1 Match?
"Riding the Winds" Colour Grading HV30-- XH-A1 Match? on Vimeo
This is old footage from over a year ago I dug out simply to try out a little COLOUR grading experimenting, giving a very rich, OTT saturation which I think looks quite a bit like a couple of the PRE-SETS in the far more expensive and supposedly superior XH-A1, not to mention more than a passing resemblence to a 3 chip Panasonic. The clip itself is pretty poor, full of bad shots, thus I have used it purely for experimental fodder. In my defence, it was blowing a gale force wind that was much harder to work in than this probably appears, although the occasional wind 'tremble' is obvious. I have hopefully made it bearable by the inclusion of a fabulous score by Ennio Morricone. |

I find that the HV30 is over saturated, but I've grown accustomed to the neutral look of the A1. I can get the HV30 a bit closer to the A1 if I back down the color and the brightness on the HV30.
