Wacky psuedo DOF adapter

I just had a wacky idea and was curious if anyone thought it might work:

Could you mount an HV20 inside an old full size camera body? I just found a DXC-3000 on CL. Could you remove the guts, mount a ground glass in place of the CCD block and stick the HV20 behind it?

My main goal would be to use the full size lens; DOF would be an extra added benefit.

Am I missing anything? I need to think about:

ground glass
image flip
powering lens
mounting the camera--physical size issues?
image size of the ground glass--will be smaller than a 35mm adapter

Curious for whatever input you might have.
