HV30/FCP capture setting question

I'm thinking about getting an HV30 which I'd use for a deck instead of my XHA1, but also would on occasion use it for shooting some things. With the XHA1 I shoot 24f, capture in FCP's HDV1080P24 easy setup mode, edit in a 23.98 HDV timeline, then export final program as needed.

My question is, is the 24P of the HV30 the same as the 24F of the XHA1, or is it a pulldown thing? Does the same 1080P24 setting work or would it only capture in some other setting to keep the 24p? I seem to recall reading something about this someplace around here but couldn't find it again.
