Mic on the HV30
Hey guys,
I've noticed that the onboard mic on my HV30 picks up more more noise from behind the camera than it does in front. For example, I was filming around asking people questions, and when I would talk behind the camera, it was super loud (like in the red), but then when they talk back its almost too quiet. Same when shooting for our movie, I call action and its waaay too loud. (not a huge deal cause its obviously cut out, just annoying when watching the footage). It seems very different from our old Sony SD camera. I'm wondering if I accidently changed something or reversed the mics direction. It also does the same thing when recording with an external mic (The Rode shotgun VideoMic, which mounts on top). Also is there a way to keep the mic set on "auto" so you don't have to set the input volume, but still be able to use manual focus? From what I can tell, its either all manual or all auto. Thanks!
