HF10 accepts large canon batteries?
I was thinking about picking one of these up for family videos, I noticed that the specs say 50minutes of battery life with the stock battery. Can you put the large canon batteries on these? and if so how long do they last?
Thanks! |

Currently there is only one other battery option for the HF series and it is the Canon BP-819 which provides 1780mAh, or about 135 minutes of recording time.

The connection on the HF10 is different, smaller, than the larger one used for the HV20/30.

135 minutes is pretty good. This looks like a fun camera.

For my HG10, I ended up getting 2 BP-2L24 Canon brand from B&H. But, those other non-Canon brands are tempting at 1/4 the price. I also suspect I'm okay using my charger from my Digital Rebel XT to charge these bigger batteries.. everything appears fine. (I also have the newer model charger, but I like to get everything charged up quickly). |
