use as a web cam
How would you hook up the HV30 to use it as a web cam? Would that be possible? Or would it be better just to buy a dedicated Web cam?

Most programs allow you to use a DV camcorder as a webcam. Just set your DV output on the camera to 'DV Lock' and plug it into your computer using a FireWire (IEEE 1394) cable and select it as an input.
I've used my HV20 in Skype, iChat, and web based flash webcam apps. |

use as a web cam
thanks for your prompt reply, wes.... looks like it would work.
the idea is to shoot myself --- ah, no --- videograph myself introducing a slideshow or a web video and splice it into the product. im finding it hard to picture the steps, though |
