HF10/100 HDMI/component outputs

I finally found an HF10 in a local store to look at. The video I shot in the store looks fairly impressive, though I didn't have time to test every function, and wasn't able to shoot outdoors due to the camera being tethered to the bench. At least in the store, I didn't see any big color problems, in fact the color actually looked pretty decent considering the store was illuminated with mercury vapor lamps, which can sometimes be problematic for auto WB.

I have a question regarding the HDMI and component outputs. Does anyone who owns this camera know if video can be output to HDMI or component during recording so an external monitor can be used during recording? Or do they function only during playback. I downloaded the manual, but I couldn't find any references to this.

Thanks in advance.
