Copy edited video back to HG10 camera?
I was thinking about how to show friends and family my HD videos that I've shot with the HG10 and then edited together. And it occurred to me that the camera does a fantastic job as an HD player when using the cables hooked up to the tv. It's a very compact and convenient way to play back material in HD on other peoples HD tv's.
The problem is, after you create a new video how would you put it back on the hard drive and get it to show up in the cameras menu system? In the file structure there seems to be other files that relate somehow to that actual MTS files. Does anyone know what they are and if they could be generated or spoofed somehow? |

Mike, I have done this and it does work well. You just have to render to .m2ts in your NLE and then use the GuideMenu software to transfer the clip back to the camera. The clip appears as a yellow question mark on the cam's LCD but it does playback correctly.

Thanks for the info Aaron. I figured the yellow mark indicated it was corrupted or something. Thats great news.
Makes the HG10 a nice portable HD player for my videos. |
