HG10 - 24p or 25p in PAL area

I am planning on getting HG10 for PAL area and trying to justify paying (almost twice) more for 50i version as opposed to 60i.

I plan to watch most of my material on Apple TV (downscaled to 720p24 or 720p25) for now and wait for HD-DVD or Blue-Ray burners/players to become mainstream.

Here is the list of things I have come up with to support the decision
-Direct import and editing of 25p footage in consumer level apps (iMovie/FCE)
-better quality in progressive mode due to full use of datastream - lack of extra pulldown frames (??)
-Easy inter-cutting with PAL footage from other DV cameras (occasional family events, etc)
-no pulsating street light images (they are 50Hz)

This is stacked up against 50i's almost double the price of 60i here in the UK.

Has anybody gone through the same decision stage and came out on either side happy?

Cheers

Almost twice Leo?

As the price of the Pal version is now only £499 + Vat ($982 + tax), that would make the USA version a little over £250 + tax ($492 + tax). That sounds very cheap. Make sure they dont try to re-sell you other items that they have already stripped out of the kit.

Is the USA version from a UK supplier or a Hong Kong supplier? If its the latter you may have to pay Duty + Vat. The same applies to buying from the USA, although if you are visiting there, I am sure you would save some money. I think it is selling there for about $700 to $800 + tax (£356 to £406 + tax)
