HG10 Returned After One Day
We had the HG-10 for a full day and shot it in 1080i/60 and 24p modes.
While a nice cam, it simply did not match our needs as a b camera to a HVX200, particularly in progressive mode. Once we did remove pulldown, and pans even at very slow speeds exhibited pronounced strobing. We also found the color at 60i to be unacceptable. We we took a restocking hit, and returned it. I really wanted this nice little unit to work, but it just didn't have what we needed. On the plus side, it did work easily with iMovie 08, and not as easily with FCP. I also had problems trying to dismount the cam from our Mac desktop when connect via USB and with the power connector on. Happy to answer any other questions if I can. |

Currently, none of the new HD cameras have accurate broadcast colors or non-rolling shutters... Except maybe the FX1 or Z1U or (with the rolling shutter to a lesser extent) the EX1.
