Vegas 7 crashed on HDV20 files
Hi
I was editing HDV footage in Vegas 7e fine until today. It was a bit slow and I had a drop-out once but it worked. Today Vegas keeps crashing on new files I have captured with HDV Split I have managed to drop the files on the timeline, but they look like red rectangles. When I switch to another application and then back to Vegas, it says that cannot read some file and eventually dies. What should I do? Should I try to recapture these files? The files play in Windows Media Player. Thanks Slava |

Crashing
I have had the same problem with the HV10. For some reason the HV10 and my new HV20 have problems when capturing with scene detection. Try capturing with Vegas 7, but do not split the scenes. Then split the scenes later.

Thanks David
Do you mean to split the clip manually in timeline in Vegas afterwards? When capturing in Vegas I am experiencing green screen in preview window. All desktop goes funny as well - black or green or doesn't repaint itself. Really stressful experience ;-[ I have rebooted my PC and unticked 'detect HDV scene' Works so far The only problem - my files are huge One and half tape of event footage ;-) Cheers |

I recall now why I used HDVSplit instead of Vegas
When splitting scenes, Vegas puts in the end of scene 4 frames without any sound and sometimes misses a new scene by few frames. ;-) I will try to use Vegas without scene detection. Still don't understand what happened with the scenes split by HDVSplit It used to work before |
