Optura Xi discontinued? NOT

In the end of June I ordered Optura xi but on knowing from the forum it's been discontinued canceled it.

Today visited DV Expo and talked to some guys from Canon. They said they'd never heard about xi being discontinued. More over, later when one of them came up to me and reassured me that Optura Xi is still in production - he checked with head office.

So, does anybody know for sure what's going on with Optura Xi.
Is there any reason to wait for a new model? Is it officialy discontinued or not?

Looks like B&H has received more Xi's!

It's never been taken off of Canons website. I would check there first.

Canon USA's product manager assured me today that the Optura Xi is not discontinued and it is in fact current through the rest of this year. Hope this helps,
