Wide lens for optura 20
Does anyone have a wide lens for their optura and what brand lens is it? I was going to add a step up ring to 52 so I could use my still camera filters.
Thanks Roy B |

With my Optura 10 I use a Kenko SGW-05 Pro 37mm 0.5x Pro Wide Angle Converter Lens that I got from B&H for $80. It works well and has full zoom thru. As both the wide angle lens & the Optura are 37mm I need no step up\down rings.

I use the recommended Canon lens for my XI. It cost around $80 and works well.

Thread size is 46mm, model WD-46. I got it locally becvause the shop I bought the XI from knocked it down in price.
There is a newer WD-H46 that I would have preffered but the timeliness of getting it locally at a decent price was worth it. I'll probably get the other one as well at a later time.

I've got the WD-H46 on my Xi, it works great, I almost never take it off. Very nice in widescreen mode. Bought it at B&H.
Had to get a bigger bag though, the lense + a Bp-535 battery makes the Xi approx. 12 inches long. |

OK 46mm good So I was thinking if I go with the bigger threaded lens that the "sweet spot" would give me a better picture... am I right about that? But I will lose some resolution too.

One more question about lenses. What if I found a still photography lens that would screw on ...would I get a better and sharper picture than a video lens?
Thanks RB |
