i can capture, etc. from the gl2 w/out a problem. however, when i go to print to video, the camera rolls and records but it doesn't actually take the feed from the computer (it starts recording but just records blue screen.) any ideas? i've tried in both play and camera modes. thanks!

Go to the View menu > External Video Playback. Make sure it is set to DV NTSC. Do the same with the audio. Try playing something from the timeline with the camera on and it should show up.

Not sure if this may work, but it's possible. When I connect my camera via firewire to my PowerMac and turn on VCR mode before opening Final Cut, I have no issues. However.. in the past I have run into the same problem you describe if i connect after opening. For some reason with certain versions of Final Cut, you need to connect your device before opening the application to print to video successfully. Newer versions have a refresh video devices option somewhere which may do the trick as well. Hope this solves your issue.
