GL2 External Microphone
When using an external wireless mike system, the receiver output wire plugs straight into the mike jack on the side of the GL2, right? Or, do I need to buy the MA-300 box and buy an adapter that changes a miniplug (3.5mm) into an XLR male plug? The manual sounds as if the minijack is only for in-camera post-production addition of audio (voice over) and not for real-time video-audio recording.

You should be able to connect the output from a wireless mic to the mic jack on the GL2. Depending on the output of the wireless mic you may need an adapter cable to stereo mini phone jack that the camcorder uses.
The mic jack is rated for mic-level input, so the wireless mic output should be set or attenuated to that level. Also, the input jack is stereo unbalancd so you may need to factor that into any adapter, but some wireless mic outputs already address both of those issues. Thus MA300 (or other XLR box) not required depending on your specific wireless mic.
