Weak audio on GL2
I use an AT897 Mic and MA300 on my GL2. With the audio level controls turned up all the way I'm barely peaking at 12 on the Vu meters when I do a nomal voice test standing 3 ft in front of the camera. I removed the MA300 and tested the internal mic and it is only slightly stronger. Before, I would typically have to set the audio level controls at about mid level to stay under 12 on the meter.
I've checked the following: 1- Mic ATT is OFF 2- Battery in AT897 is new Any suggestions on what might be causing this? I've got a shoot tomorrow and I am hoping to figure this out before then. Thanks. |

One more piece of information. I just tried my wireless mic which I XLR into the MA300. It works perfectly - easily maxes the vu meter on the GL2 channel it is connected to. This is getting weird. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Nathaniel. I tried that but no luck. I'm off to do some filming. I'll fiddle with this more next week.

Do I understand correctly that this is a change in camocrder behavior?
Note that many wireless mic system have high output level.
