BP-941 and BP-945 compatible?

Hi there,

this is first thread on this great forum and I hope you guys can help me. I have a chance to get some cheap batteries for my XM-2, which are well-rated on some websites.

You can find them here:

http://www.save-it-smart.de/pi-1645255861_2.htm?categoryId=46

You will notice one which is compatible to the BP-941 and offers 5500 mAh capacity. But is the BP-941 compatible to the BP-945 which is recommended in the manual?

Or do you think I should buy two of the 3700 mAh batteries (compatible to BP924/927/930) instead? Of course, the big one would be more cost-effective.

Any help is appreciated!

From Germany,
Chris

Chris

Welcome, and yes the 941 batteries are compatible, although I can't vouch for the quality of the particular battery you've shown here. My experience is that third party batteries vary in quality substantially...I have a couple cheapo's that I bought that won't hold a charge for even a day after I take them off the charger, and will quit unexpectedly 20 minutes into a shoot...(these are the higher amp 941's).... on the other hand I now have 3 lenmar 941's that I got for about $70ea and they last easily for 3-4 hours on my gl2 and I leave them on the camera for weeks and they don't lose their charge. Others have recommended another battery...Power (something), I think, and have similar positive results. Do a search for batteries, and you'll probably get some good options, or maybe some feedback on the battery you linked us to.

That was fast, thank you!

I think I'll go for the big one and report my experience.

Thanks again,
Chris

I've had great results with the Power 2000. I just completed a documentary shoot in Mexico using 3 945's - plenty of power during the day, shooting all day, while recharging at night. About 80.00 USD from B&H.
peace

I bought a Unomat 941/945 replacement battery. This battery
is from germany (I'm from Holland) and was 69 Euros. I can't
tell you if it is really good since I've been only using it for one
day. But it did not let me down during that day, it kept powering
my camera with enough juice remaining according to the built
in meter in the XL1s.
