GL2 help to buy

I can have a GL2 for $1000,which should be good deal.Everything seems to work fine,no stratches actually looks like new.
I don't know how old is the cam or how many hours it has or is it still in Warranty. Is there any way I can find out.Could you please tell me what should I check before buying, please??

That would be my first step from Panasonic GS400.

THank you

You could be getting a great $1700 camera for $1000 or you could be throwing away $1000. That's the risk/reward nature of buying used. Before I bought I'd want to know about the cam's history. Is the seller the original owner? why is is it being sold?

The classic failure modes with the GL2 in order of frequency of occurence are the "Eject Tape" message, sticky zoom and spontaneously turning off then back on. I love my GL2, but I absolutely would not buy a used one unless it was stipulated in writing that I could return it for refund if I found any of those defects within 7 days (or 5 days, or whatever). Then I would put it through its paces.

Use Escrow

Use www.escrow.com.

Made my GL2 purchase much easier on the mind.

Puerto Rico???

Hmmm...

Denno about serial numbering etc. etc... but for anything coming to you via the third world.... escrow escrow escrow!

You could probably call canon tech support with the serial number for warranty info.
