Firewire for new computer

I'm planning on building a computer for video editing - sometime next year. For purposes of downloading video from my camcorder - is it ok to go with the firewire hookup to the motherboard, or is it better to get a firewire card? In terms of cards, I was thinking about the Canopus 1394 card, though it is no longer on their website. If I go the card route, what's the best for downloading video?

you will be fine

I think you don't need to buy extra card the build-in firewire in the motherboard would be fine. for me no problem at all. buy only good motherboard for sure. (ASUS,Gigabyte).
