GL2 Stolen!

My apartment was burglarized recently and my GL2 was taken along with my iPod and a few personal items. I don't have the serial number recorded, so im out of luck.... If any one sees a GL2 in a local pawnshop with "ALECKS" branded in the lens hood, thats my baby and I want it back.

Sorry to hear about that Alecks.

This would be a good time to remind people to get some insurance to protect your expensive gear however. If you have a homeowners policy and you don't use your camera professionally you may already be covered, although the limit is probably no higher than $5,000 - see your agent. If you live in an apartment you should get renters insurance, which is pretty much the same thing. Really, you need this for the liability coverage even more than protection against theft.

If you use your equipment professionally then talk to your insurance agent. They can write you a policy that meets your needs and it won't even cost very much if you already have a homeowners and auto policy from the same agency.

Not to add further rain to your parade, but the lens hood isn't a good place to write your ID marking since the hood is easily removable. I always engrave a small ID mark on an inconspicuous location of the camera body.
