GL2 problem - garbled images
I have a GL2 that has been good to me for about a year now. I clean the heads about every 50 hours of use but now the tapes that I shoot in it will not play clear in other DV cameras. The image is garbled, but plays in the GL2 just fine. Most of the time....
On the flip side, some tapes will not play back in the GL2 that it was shot in, but will play back on my VX1000 or Panasonic GS120. When I shoot it, I test it on the spot and it's fine (but still won't play in any other cam), but if I play it back in a month or so... the GL2 won't even play it. Any ideas what the deal is, or is it time for sending it in for repair? Thanks, Dave |

This sounds like your heads alignment has changed and may need fixing. However
this may mean you will not be able to read certain tapes after you have this fixed. A tape deck might still read those tapes, though (although no garantuees). The main suspects are the ones you cannot read in other camera's. If possible you may want to capture at least these to your/a computer before sending the camera in for repair.
