Friend's GL-1 Looks better than My gl-2 footage
I bought my GL-2 used off here a while back. Never really did much night filming...
But tonight I filmed some cars on the highway right @ dusk to dark. I had my buddy set it up as he does on his GL-1. Manual mode 1.6 all the way open, 12db.... i also had a custom preset for low light that i read on here... (i've tryed filming with low db or none and its just way to dark @ night).... He filmed with his gl-1 in the same settings as mine... My film came out grainy and darker than his... could it be my camera or what? i'm a little concerned... his footage always looks better than mine :(

the gl2 has the same ccd with more pixels on it, so it will get more detail in light but have more grain in low light...still you got the better camera

20 x zoom
2 x adjustable audio channels I'll take this over low light - any day! Anyway, start doing more manual operations and work out some low light presets. Plus, if you really need light .. add it! The other thing is, that which is grainy can be maybe excused as . . .er .. . low light? Nope! I'm very happy withg my XM2. Great clear pictures. BIG zoom for framing - Low light? Nah! And seriously, I've pulled a lot of stuff back in post anyway. Grazie |
