Howdy from Texas,
In order to choose an XLR microphone (XLR is the interface with the MA-300), you'll need to know a little bit about the different types of mics available, and of course you should have a clear idea of what type of video you're going to shoot. Here are a couple of online resources for learning about all of the different types of XLR mics you can mount on the GL2. Any of our site sponsors at www.dvinfo.net/sponsors can help you when you're ready to buy. This should get you started -- hope this helps, http://www.audio-technica.com/using/mphones/guide/index.html http://www.ontourwithshure.com/tech/tech_directional.asp |

The Sennheiser MKE-300 will not fit in the Canon MA-300's mic clamp. That microphone has its own mounting foot for attaching directly to a camera accessory shoe. You could mount this Sennheiser mic on top of the Canon MA-300 as there is an accessory shoe up there, but it kind of defeats the purpose of the MA-300. This Sennheiser mic does not connect via XLR by the way.
The Sennheiser 66 *will* fit in the MA-300 mic clamp, in fact the clamp is sized perfectly for it. Hope this helps, |
